Please could I ask the fellow forum items a question…..

With the onset of winter, I was wondering what modes people would recommend  for me to use on my Rav4 2WD Hybrid, when driving in ice or snowy conditions?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

I find that if the road gets slippy here or i have to drive across a muddy field i put the car in ECO mode as the throttle responsiveness seems to apply the torque more evenly and i get less wheel-spin.

Also worth noting that if it does snow and you're stuck, turning off the traction control may help since you can regulate the power to the wheels rather than the computer cutting it due to wheel spin.

The best mode is 'gently' ... 😉

I rarely used / use anything other than Normal and a light foot, but as said above, Eco will make is easier (and Sport more difficult).

Turning off traction control is a significant help. However I would fit winter or all season tyres too.
