Tyre Pressure warning light

Now that the cold weather is here, the tyre pressure warning light has come on. Every Toyota I have had ( various models ) have had this problem. When it first happened sone years ago, I initially got the tyre pressures checked and all was in order. After the next time I contacted my Toyota garage and was told it was the tyre sensor that does not the cold and everything was ok. I pointed out that I have to check it each time incase of a pressure loss in the tyres. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

This is not confined to Toyota, every car has this problem when its cold, add 2-3 psi for each tyre. Do some reading on the net and you will understand more.

It's not uncommon but usually occurs because the TPWS 'set' pressures are set too high in the first place.

Check and set the pressure in the tyres to the recommended pressure, and then follow the procedure in your Owner's Manual to [re]set the TPWS pressure settings so that the system learns the correct pressures.

Thanks for that but have carried out that procedure for the last two days. Have decided just to let it ‘ glow ‘ on the dashboard until the warm weather comes. I think after this, it’s time to move away from Toyota
