led in non led headlights is illegal in most countries including uk.
If your Auris has non led bulbs in your headlights not much you can do.
Priblem is not the bulbs but the inside the projector that preojects only half of the light output made by the lightbulb. Best thing to do is to get them adjusted in garage with machine like on the yearly car checks and buy better light bulbs like Philips extreme vision or similar.

I think there are few issues. Badly setup or aftermarket LED lights blinding other road users, who then struggle to see. Drivers eyes getting older and not realising they are not seeing as well. The halogen bulbs if original might not be as bright as when new. Headlight lens being clean.
I know that some cars have better headlights, but I have stuck with the standard bulbs and coped well.

Stay legal and safe.

The headlights in Auris 2 is indeed a disaster. It is too dim for today standard. Unfortunately, it is complicated to upgrade it to the HID or bi-LED facelift 2015. You must install sprayer nozzle and autoleveling for Auris 2. I found the best legal way is to get Corolla and sell The Auris 2. Auris 1 headlights is brighter because of dual bulbs not just a single HIR2 for both low and high beams. You can use OSRAM original, Philips ExtreemVision=Toyota Optiwhite or Hella (£8 in Amazon) that have 1870 lumens instead of the OEM Philips LL 1340 lumens. Brighter Halogen has shorter life than the OEM, only for about 1/3.

The gray area alternative is changing the HIR2 halogen bulbs to brighter LED. 99% of LED in the market are garbage, only some are good but none of them are cheap. A few good brands: Bevinsee V45, Morimoto, GTR Ultra 2, Apollo X7, etc. Principally, the LED bulb will not blind anyone because of the sharp cut-off Projecter headlights in Auris 2. Those LED is 3800-4500 lumens. Literally, 3x brighter than original OEM bulb.  I used Bevinsee V45 for almost 2 years and it has 3 years warranty. It is very bright, that I often blinded from the reflection of the road sign when using high beam.

Any light source in a projector lens do not blind anyone so long its adjusted accordingly. Installed hid on a few previous cars, they are the best for me due to able to have 4300k & 5000k temp.
