sun visor why make it only have locking positions

Anyone know if there is a way to stop the sun visor from just going into the lock position when folding out. In my previous cars you could just put it as far down as you wanted but for some reason in my 24 yaris it just goes to a lock position near the windscreen. Was not sure if there is a way to take it off and then remove something that would allow me to have it any position that I want.

You can move to any position you like but then if you push further it goes into lock position. Perhaps for easier unclip and rotate towards side window.
