Why rear of Prius from the same generation different?

Why does the rear of these 2 Prius from the same generation look different?

 

Is it because 1 is plugin hybrid?

The grey prius rear looks better than the rear of the blue Prius

Yeah, the blue one above is a gen 4 facelift (just a HEV), and the grey one above is the PHEV. Personally, in my opinion, they both look 👎🏼 The best rear of a Prius is the gen 2, gen 4 pre-facelift, and gen 5.
