Hi

I'm getting a loud noise and vibration when pulling away from a halt, I've checked the dog bone mount and it appears in very good condition and I've checked the engine mount on the left hand side (drivers side) of the engine and that appears ok.

Are there other mounta that I'm missing and if so, would someone be able to let me know where they are.

I need to get this sorted as car is basically undriveable and I don't have the money to take it to a garage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Unless they are completely gone/disintegrated, it can be hard to verify the condition of engine mounts without removing them from the car. If you think they are fine, then could this be a worn clutch judder? I can cause the driveline to judder quite violently when pulling away.

Its best to get the car up on a ramp and check the underside and the bushings. You could see whether a garage could do a free check for you at least?

Transmission mount?

Small Front wheel drive car typically has 3 mounts on the engine:

  1. Engine mount on the driver side
  2. Torque mount (Dog bone mount you spoke of).
  3. Transmission mount that is on top of the gearbox (on the passenger side)

For the Transmission mount, you can't really see it unless you remove the Battery and the Battery tray.

When inspecting mount, look for cracks on the rubber.  If you saw cracks, there's a good chance the mount is cooked.
