Auto main beam

Does anyone know if you can adjust the sensitivity of the auto main beam as at times mine come on even if there are street lights etc. and also dips quite late with incoming traffic. I know you can adjust the light sensitivity of the lights coming on but nothing I can find on auto main beam

Hi Robin, You can adjust the sensitivity from Low, Medium and High in the settings menu on the infotainment display under settings, vehicle, lights.   I agree with your observations and have noticed the same myself with a momentary delay in dipping the beams to oncoming traffic but I think this is not a Toyota specific issue as I know people that say the same with Ford’s and VW group cars.  I haven’t tried the sensitivity adjustment myself yet, it’s currently set on medium.  I have also noticed main beam stays dipped sometimes in complete darkness at 40-50mph which is a bit frustrating until I override it with the stalk.   I think like all driver aids they are good some of the time but not 100%.

Thanks. I thought that setting was for the sensitivity of the headlights automatically turning on and not the auto main beam
