During the snowy weather, I was turning around on the road and a car came down too fast for the conditions and smashed into the back of me 😞 Going through insurance right now, but I have a feeling the car will be a write off. Both the side airbags went off.

I have to say, the car protected me very well. Took and absorbed all the impact. Aside from a little sore on my right side I walked away from the accident quite easy. So you guys should feel quite safe in your cars!

Just still kinda shocked and unsure what to do now... Kinda want to avoid the roads for a while lol.

It will be quick but it won't be enough to replace like for like, unless you have gap insurance.

Aww man, that sucks. Glad to hear you're OK and that is the main thing here, hopefully the person in the other car is OK as well.

Very scary I’m sure, glad to hear that you’re okay, sadly, many of today’s drivers can’t drive to the road conditions…

@Jules88, Glad you are alright, may be worth a visit to your GP (if you can get an appointment) for a check-up and have something on the record in case you later develop any strain injuries.

You can try for any difference in settlement figure as either "Uninsured Loss" against the other driver or insist that any insurance settlement "puts you back in the same position as you were immediately prior to the accident".

This is one of the 6 principles of insurance and as you were (hopefully) blameless * it may be a good argument to use.  If you have add-on legal advice on your motor or house insurance policy, make sure you avail yourself of the service.

Be proactive and make the points early in any discussion, do not wait until you get a disappointing offer.

Note * : I am not saying you were not blameless, but the other driver may try and pass blame when he fills in his forms - it's a natural reaction - "I wouldn't have hit him if he hadn't got out of bed that morning, so it's partially his fault", as soon as he realises he's in for higher insurance costs, he/his insurance may try for a knock-for-knock - argue against that with everything you've got.

🤞it all goes O.K. and you don't run into any issues and this post was a waste of time.

Glad to hear that you didn't suffer any injuries from it and that you are ok...

Hope that photo was some time after the accident and it was still snowing as I bet the first thing the insurance companies will say is that your side window was not clear so its 50/50
