Phone charging in Yaris Cross

Am new to hydrid ownership. When using Car Play on my phone yesterday I realised I was losing charge on my phone. Does the phone not recharge when plugged into the USB and being used for navigation? It used to on my manual car. Thanks for any help.

Can you try a different cable, preferably the one you use for charging at home ?  It’s possible the one you’re using is ‘data only’.  Certainly my phone is charged when using NAV on CarPlay. In fact, I have to use a cable as the Battery discharge when wireless is quite significant.
