Bus Lanes

Turning left across a bus lane can be dangerous.

I can find no detailed information relating to the sign in a local bus lane which shows 3 lanes, the inside indicates a left turn with a red line across the forward direction and the other two point forward.

Does it mean that motorists wanting to turn left are permitted to use the bus lane from this sign to decelerate before turning left?

(At the spot I have in mind, there is no bus route along the road to the left.)

There should be some 'move left' arrows in the carriageway for when you can use the bus lane to turn left.

If not then you would enter the bus lane (when clear) at the same time that you would indicate to turn left.

If the bus lane isn't clear and there is queing traffic waiting to go left, then obviously, you joint the back of the que.

you must not enter the bus lane at all, in some occations, cycles, and taxis are allowed to use the lane if the sign says so

So vmail, you think its safer to cut cross two lanes of traffic when you want to turn instead of moving across into the bus lane to give yourself time to turn?

you can enter bus lanes freely outside of specific hours usually stated on signs along the bus lane... around warrington they are mostly stating between the hours of 7:30am and 9:00am

Don't see what all the fuss is about. They are just lines in the road not concrete barriers, if you want to drive over one just do it.

Go on you know you want to.

I find that the best method if you are unsure, is to close your eyes really tightly and yank the wheel in the direction you are trying to go in

I knew an indian doctor once who was confused with roundabouts so he just used to accelerate when he got to one and hope for the best. True.
