how hard is it to put a turbo on an 18R-GEU

From what I have found the static CR on these engines is very low with a couple of sites listing the 18R-GEU at 8.3:1 static CR.

That should take 10-12 lbs of boost with little issues, the standard pistons are fairly strong and should take that sort of pressure with no issue.

The low CR comes from the hemi design of the head and should respond well to a turbo.

I would say something of T28/T3 size should work well and give a nice drivable engine.

What vehicle is this in if I may ask?

Here is a nice site with Toyota engine data and photos.

There was an expreimental / racing only 16v version of the 18RG series engine that would have been a nice engine but it did not make it into production.
