Check Indicator Light

I drive Toyota camry 1997 with about 80,000 miles.

Lately, I was very low on Engine oil when the CHECK light came and did add more oil.

The CHECK light is still on.

Please help.

At this time, I have not taken to Dealer as the Mannual suggests it

and have not used any scanner to find the trouble code

Thanks

I have got the code read by AutoZone. They gave me the code

as P0401.

This code gives 4 reasons possible for the light.

1) EGR Valve defective

2) EGR pressure sensor

3)EGR system passages in engine blocked with carbon

4)EGR Solenoid defective

Can any body help me as to the magnitude of problem.

Can I fix it??

should i get done by the dealer

or should get done by any auto garage??
