Hey dudes,

Am starting to get ideas about changing the engine in my paseo. Have been on:

and have been looking at upgraded engines.

I like the 4a-ge 20v Black top, developing about 165-170 bhp. Problem is I`m needing advice from someone who has already converted a 5e-fe paseo engine into something else.

How long would it take? Would it fit properly, or would I have to cut bodywork to make it fit?

Cheers guys

I've not done it on a Paseo but I have on 2 Seras.

I would recommend the 4E-FTE (135bhp startlet turbo) for the following reasons:

1. The engine mounts are exactly the same, so no custom mounts needed

2. The wiring on a Sera is 95% the same, so quick and easy

3. Similar engine weights so handling isn't compromised

A Starlet conversion could be up and running 100% reliably in a weekend.

You will either have to make a bonnet vent for the intercooler or relocate the intercooler to the front bumper.

I've replied to your PM, any questions just ask.
