De-badged

Hey guys,

Decieded to de-badge everything bar the Yaris Badge. Don't ask why, because I cannot explain. Its just personal prefference.

Here it is:

And yes, I know about the small dent near the fog lamp. Damn woman driver who had it last looks like she backed into a post (probably in a parking lot) but its like £250+ to fix so I can live with it for now.

Do you like!?

Hopefully i'll have my Eibach springs and 16inch rims by the end of the week - and fitted soon after!

Cheers,

s0cks

Damn woman driver??? Hey! :P

Is it easy to de-badge Yarii? Did you need to repair the paintwork after?

I quite like the fact that Toyota don't slap the size of the engine / output on the back of their cars, unlike most other manufacturers (how many 16v badges do you see on Ford Escorts for goodness sake, like it's something special!!) But I think cars look cool de-badged.

earl - i never had a T-Sport Badge, plus it gives away that its a 1.5 ;)

Charis - I did in about an hour (if that). Just heat up the Badge with a hairdryer. Slowly cut the Badge away from the body using a strand of dental floss.

Once removed, peel of the remaining glue with your fingers. All the other dirty marks should easily wash away - and then just polish it all up.

If you just yanked it off then that is why it probably took the laquer with it. If you had heated it up, and then gently cut away the glue from the Badge (so cutting awaya at the edge closer to the Badge and not the edge closer to the bodywork) then you are left with some glue in the shape of the Badge - which you can peel away!

========= bodywork

___________ cut away here

---------------- badge

hope that kind of explains it

Thanks. The hairdryer and dental floss technique sounds very interesting and it must work as yours looks as good as new! Didn't realise it was as simple as that!

I would be tempted to take the VVT-i and Toyota badges off mine (the Mr T badges are rather large aren't they!!) Who needs to know the car has VVT-i anyway? Hehe.
