wherever you get them from, make sure they're not some cheapo copy that doesn't even fit !!

Russ had some very poor examples of veilside skirts a while back.

Avoid MTTE at all costs matey...

:censor:

but the kit fits ..

it's often been said that the money you save buying a cheaper kit, you pay back with trying to get the thing to fit ..

I use Rogue Systems for some stuff, MTTE for specifics and then other MR2 owners for bits and bobs ..

And me - but the rear bumper :D

Mine is pretty poor.

I bought my Veilside skirts from Nemesis Performance (see their advert at the top)

They were shipped for next day (£40) delivery and cost £689 all in - the body shop and I were very happy with the fit and you can see the pics HERE

Do yourself a favor though mate - join GOLD first then I think you can claim some kind of discount (I am now kicking myself :( )

what's wrong with mtte ??

Late last year I bought a genuine Veilside rear bumper in used condition off MTTE.

What I received for my £300+ price tag was a badly damaged and fudge repaired Veilside 'style' rear bumper - not a good start.

At the same time I bought a pair of Veilside style sideskirts which knowing what I know now I should have had them test fitted and sent back.

However, the rear bumper was repaired and painted, the paint reacted with whatever the substance was that had been used to fix the bumper by MTTE, stripped and painted again.

The side skirts were painted and off the car looked ok if a bit badly finished at the edges, on the car they were a complete and utter disaster!

I've never seen such poorly made, ill fitting, badly finished side skirts in my life!

More body shop work at my own cost and finally they looked 'ok' no they didn't, they still look bad and now! I'm shortly binning them for something that actually fits as it should!

A somewhat delicate email was sent to Mr Croft explain the 'problems' - no reply.

3 more emails I sent out of growing frustration - still no reply.

If I had the time and money I'd of taken an trip up to see Mr Croft and dumped the lot on his drive I'm sure.

As far as I'm concerned MTTE is ran by a clown trading in his bedroom with no regards to customer service or satisfaction.

It's a shame he wasn't at MR2004 maybe then he could of taken the time to have a chat with me.

Admittedly I've no experience of the other MR2 parts MTTE sell but as far as styling parts go I'd sooner lick my own a$$hole than use MTTE again.

Rant over...counts to 10 slowly

a year ago MTTE were using someone to supply their bodyparts.

But now as far as I'm aware they only sell genuine parts.

That may or may not be true, but it's still run by the same guy. The same guy who took almost £600 of my my and my g/f's money, the same guy who didn't reply to my email or phone calls.

That doesn't really defend him does it?

all I can say is that I've used MTTE for alot of things and never had any problems. Same with email communication etc. Jase has helped me out a few times too.

Maybe you were just unlucky?

Maybe you were just unlucky?

Luck has nothing to do with the matter Jim.

I think it's best to agree to disagree on the subject, let's just take a moment to be grateful for all the other MR2 specialists in the world who put their customer first.

well after defending them... I actually don't like MTTE that much because of the shipping costs and how long it takes for an item to get here from Japan.

Unfortunately that's often the way with companies, they're quick enough to take your money but when you have problems they never rush to respond to you.

If you try MTTE, just ask who his supplier is for the Vielside bits.

My mate bought a set of Vielside skirts about a year ago from a company who MTTE used ( dont know if he still does ) and they were a terrible fit.

Took them back and got another set and they didnt fit.

He still has them unfitted

I'm considering cutting and reshaping to make a good fit then make moulds.
