Hi,

I can not figure out what is the best way to remove condensat from inside the windows.

What settings are the best for Airco / Vent etc.?

Can I still have airco button on if i put the heater on?

I put the heater on the winscreen first then move the controls to heat the car

Okay, put the fan on full, have all of the air to the screen and the heat right up. If you hvae aircon then switch that on too.

The aircon will help to take the water out of the air and will dry the inside of the car. The aircon unit will work as a dehumidifyer no matter what the temperature setting is - you don't always have to have it so you're driving around in a fridge ;)

Hope that helps,

Cheers,

Alan

HERES THE BEST ADVICE!!!

DONT 'FULLY' SET YOUR FANS ONTO THE WINDOW, BUT THE ONE BEFORE THAT!! SO THAT THE ONES NEAREST THE DOORS CAN BE POINTED ON THE DOORS TO REMOVE IT FROM THERE, TURN IT ON FULL POWER, AND HAVE IT EXACTLY BETWEEN HOT AND COLD, SO ITS IN THE MIDDLE!!

That shud do it quickly :D :P

oh and btw, welcome to the club mate :group-cuddles:

Does having it "all to the screen" not still let it come out the side ones?

Why only half heat too - you only need to heat until the windows are cleared? My old man's car has an auto demist button and it exssentially sets the ventilation to the settings I described...

I'm sure it will work just the same tbh..

so you're driving around in a fridge ;)

Can you do that in your Yaris? I can't. It never gets colder than 20 celsius. Can it be that my airco is broke? How can i determine if it is? Nothing in the manual :(

when the control is set to 'windscreen' the side vents are still slightly open to demist the door windows

the aircon wont drop below 16 degrees either

andru you may be ready for having the gas exchanged

exchanged ? it's from april 2004 and only 3000km :(

is there any way to check if it's operational? I mean how come 16 degrees limit? Because when i came to the service they said,"Ahh, it blows the cool air from the holes, what else do you want?"

Having the air con on with any vent direction will get rid of the condensation; the excess moisture will be dumped under your car.

to check its operation there will be cold air coming out the vent :P

look under the bonnet at the sight glass

if its 'clear' then its fine

if you can see bubbles then theres air trapped in the system

also have a small gap on the window or ya sunroof on 'tilt' with the visor across

helps to get rid of the air heated by the sun through the windows in the car

To sum up:

- it is okay to have airco on and set regulator to "warm" - 4 opinions vs 1

It's still not clear how do i get rid of condensat when I absolutely dont want to heat the car?

Example: Very hot rainy day and you breathed a lot inside a closed car (dont ask why -_- )

Yeah, what sight glass? Well, i should ve asked first what is bonnet

the sight glass is the small glass viewing tool you can look into errr . . dunno where it is on a Yaris but probably towards the front of the bay. Its about 5cm high and 4cm across and will be on a matt silver metal 'box' (probably) and have an 'H' embossed on the cap.

~Getting my air-con regassed and serviced next week by Mr T. just under £100.

Sight glass is fine...but after nearly 3 years she doesn't blow cold as much as she did. I have to have the thing on full belt to bring the temperature down.

2-3 years is the norm for re-gassing.

If you have air-con that's the fastest way to de-mist ya glass.

If ya don't then you need to get rid of the moisture...so even in winter...open the side windows a tad, and get the blowers on...when hot....still keep the windows opens to drive the moisture out. Your glass only mists up because it's too humid in your car.

and top tip number one...don't be impatient and wipe the inside the a cloth!! will look a piggin mess and you'll see jack if there's any sun about!

I hate the yari's blower controls though...if you have em on the front de-mist...then sod all comes out the side blowers....now if your windscreen is going ot mist up....so are your side windows!! Have too keep switching back and forth between the sides and the windscreen!

Aircon thugh I think is just as useful in winter as it is in summer.
