Odometer Correction

Does anybody know how I can get the odometer reset on my my Japanese Import MR-S. The odometer has been converted from km to miles by the importers but the mileage was left reading the same as the km!

I was told that the actual mileage is 6000 less than that indicated.

I want to reset it to the correct mileage.

Can I do it myself or what?

If its the old style odometer with the numbered barrels you could do it yourself. If its the digital type then you'll probably need to get a specialist to do it. Its better to have it done by a reputable garage as they can give you written proof of whats been done just so that you dont get accused of clocking the car when you come to sell. I believe its also advisable to write to DVLA to tell them what you have had done and why. Your local MrT should be able to sort it for you.

Yeah mine is the same, speedometer reads in mph but the mileage reading is still in km (98,000 which is about 60,000 miles).
