was just wondering who here is with elephant with their insurance also. I'm wanting to put the rear lexus lights and front bumper crystals and clear side repeaters. as these arent engine mods or anything drastic, will it be acceptable without adding more to my insurance? ta :)

I tried

1. Full Bodykit (inc lights and logos)

2. Rims, brakes, suspension, braces

3. Engine mods (Inc filter, exhaust, clutch)

4. Interior mods (wheels, shifter, gear knob)

5. ICE

and they laughed :(

Im with elephant..

they were fine with my lowering springs and exhaust...

they allow most mods. You can also select them on the web site quote - same as Admiral.

They don't actually insure the mod, only allow you to fit them and remain covered. They will only pay the amount a standard part will cost.

I am with Elephant too - FC policy is only around 560 for me with 1 years ncb. I declared exhaust, intake and wheels for now and it only made it up to 610 or so.

Can't complain!

Bibbs, 6 mods are great :)

Direct line will seem to let you have as many mods asyou like .......... at a price.

Blitz induction kit extra cost £50

Wheels £126

Lexus Rear lights & veilside skirts - no extra charge  ?

oh, and all this cost me UNDER £1000 ok!!! ;)

The best I can understand they charge per for the "band" your mods, so mine fall into the £251-£1000 group I get charged £176 extra.

Still Im 25 in December (bit scared) but looking forward to not being put on hold EVERY time I call Direct line, while they have a quick (10 min) chat with the underwritters.

I can feel a nice classic car policy comming up soon :D

hth somehow :)
