Boost Controllers

Ive just read a post with reference to installing a boost controll on their mr2 turbo. With one of these fitted, do you just increase the boost and get more power, as easy as that. Or is it unsafe to do this, and you run the risk of nakkin ur turbo and engine if no other mods have been done.

Cheers

Just make sure the fuel feed supply is enough for the increased boost... or you can kiss your engine goodbye. You do not want to lean out and suffer detonation. BANG! :bye:

Have you done the usual air filter, downpipe (decat) and exhaust upgrade?

I got one on my GT4. Running at a tad under 15psi. No probs whatsoever. Had to fit an FCD tho. Fuel cut was about 14psi ish.Upped it to 16psi.

With a few other mods like water injection and uprated fuel pump and fuel pressure valves you can start adding more boost. The trick is to take it stage by stage and get plenty of advice. :)

obviously if you work something harder, the time it lasts is shorter ..

but mechanical things are built to work with as little stress as poss ..

Most of us 10psi rev1/2 boys are running 15/16 psi with no ill effects ..

like someone said, get some advice etc if you don't know what's what.

You odn't wanna just be cranking the boost up and hoping for the best.
