How Should I Increase The Power?

I have a 1995 Celica Gt & would like to increase the power in the most straight forward and cost effective way. Can anyone give advice on the following ideas? Thanks

Tuning (Thinking of getting a someone to tune it but not sure if its worth it)

Exhaust (Is it worth just getting a backbox or would a full system be needed?)

Induction Kit (Have been told K&N & Blitz are good, but are they simple to fit?)

theres 1 mod that u can do that will give you the biggest increase over an exhaust and air filter m8 get a de cat pipe, on the gt the de cat give's u so much low down torgue that the engine lacks , its by far worth every penny , couple that with a good induction kit and u will be a happy man until u get bored and want more power lol.

I have the k&n which i found to give a bit off power but i think thats cause i already had the de cat pipe, i wouldnt trust a blitz as they only filter out stuff as big as marble's lol , the blitz might give u an extra 1hp but the lack of filteration just isnt worth it , ether the apexi or the k&n get my vote , and there a doddle to install

think it was around £90 from tune a car m8 , at first i thought it was a waste of money but 30 mins off driving and letting the ecu learn the new setup there was a marked improvment , the low down torgue you get is so great it transforms the car making it easyer to drive around town ,

If anyone's thinking about getting one from tune a car check to see if ur cat has a temp probe going into it as my de cat pipe came with the hole to attach the probe but my cat didnt have one so had to get the hole welded up.. other than tune a car u can get any custom exhaust place to make u up one for proberly less that £90

i got some gains from the de cat pipe , but soon got used to it as the car was quick to begin with 95 in 3rd pretty easy, k and n do a induction kit now for the 95 gt's cost around £85 ,they make a good deal difference and sound well good roaring around. sugest getting the car tuned after you do all your upgrades not before.

Thanks for the help  . I've had a look on Tune a car & I think i'm gona go for the de cat pipe to start with. Apart from the hole that might need welding is there anything else I should be aware of?

thats where i got my decat pipe from , and you dont get new bolts and gaskets as shown ( i didnt anyways ) .i put a bolt through the hole with locking nuts.

Cheers mate, i'll have to ask them about that when I order it & if all the bits aren't included then i'll probly just do the same as you did.

Hi

I am saving up for a full performance exhaust but would it be worth just gettin a de cat for my standard exhaust instead?

Thx

as far as new exhaust's go u will get more power from a de cat than any performance exhaust thats a fact.

its true u dont get anything other than the decat pipe from tune a car , no gaskets included, if ur car has nothing going into it ie:temp probe then tell them when u order that way u wont have to go through the hastle of having it welded up.

add an induction kit and u will me happy for a while, i did this about a year ago and im still happy with my celica :D 15.7 secs on the 1/4 mile aint that bad :D
