I don't mean to be funny, but...

Your light switch is not directly connected to the lights, it goes through a relay which does the 'heavy' switching of the headlight bulbs :P

So it probably wasn't the new headlight bulbs that caused the problem <_<

mmm... are you sure? :huh::thumbsup:

In the fusebox it says LH beam (10A) and RH (10A) beam and there is a twin pole switch behind the steering wheel (I assume if it was a relayed then there would be a double pole relay with double throw and a single pole switch). when i took it out, the "main beam LH" was not contacting (I checked with a multimeter).

I think there are two types of stalk. One where you push to turn the main beam on and one where you pull (push to make, push to break) to turn it on. The replacement i got was the former.

I will have to check the wiring me thinks. Anyway while i'm on it, the power rating is as follows - assuming everyone has 10A fuses:

P=IV

100w=12xI ->I = 8.3A

so 1.7A to play with. although when the bulb is cold it will draw more current because the filament resistance increases with heat.

Shelly are the side light legal or not?as in the purple/blue ones????

I dont care if its legal or not, :lol: i just use them when iam out cruising, but no harm in quickly popping on ur main beams when the cops come.
