My 1994 2.2td auto Estima has a nasty noise on acceleration.

Sounds just as if belts were slipping but have removed one at a time to prove and even removed the shaft driving bottom pulley just incase it was a bearing.

Can only get this noise when driving sounds fine when its not moving. Once up to speed and you back off the gas a bit, under 2500 rpm, you can hardly hear it.

Anyone any ideas??

Got the same problem way back, the bearing was damage beacuse of the washer fitted in that covers the whole bearing. re-fitted new bearing to pulley removed excess washers placed nut then check the play of pulley. Re-fit belts. hope this helps

Sorry to be dumb, but which bearing / pulley are we talking about?

Thanks

Im talking about the aircon pulley. Well anyway, it wont do too much work if you check everything. Good Luck!

Does it make the noise whether you have the aircon on or not. Have you tryed something as simple as "belt dressing" basically it lubricates all the belts and extends there wear- you can buy it from most motor factors (about £5)
