How To Tell If Imported Rav4 ?

Very easy to check from the rear, UK RAV's have the standard oblong number plate, the JDM one's have the smaller off square type.

All UK Rav's have a fog light built into the lower R/H part of the back door.

The JDM RAV's don't use our trim codes ( ie VX or GX), they will have "RAV4 J" or "RAV4 L" on the back door ,or it could be the high performance "TYPE G" model ,this is a 3S-GE engine with 160 odd BHP :) .

I've just rung the a couple of Toyota garages in the Midlands until I found the right one that serviced the RAV4 in the past.

I have confirmed the chassis numer, Reg at the time and mileage for the services.

The last two services were done at a local Porshe garage.

As you may have seen from other threads on here and the Celica forum I'm waiting on him getting the transfer details back from the DVLA as he had a personal plate that is being transferred to his new car.

Mind you the DVLA are saying that the MOT and details of transfer that are required to get a number plate done will be back by Wed at the latest but the V5 will take 4-6 weeks !! (I haven't seen it yet either !! Mindyou I guess that there shouldn't be too many suprises. I have confirmed with a Toyota garage what the original REg number and chassis numbers are, that it has a full Toyota service history up till 92,000 miles when he bought it.

As long as I get a HPI check done and give them the chassis number, new reg, old reg and MOT number then everything should be verified.
