Hey,

Protech in Bristol (http://www.protech-uk.co.uk) sell a mini-gearbox that fits between your speedo drive on your gearbox casing (down the back of the engine compartment) and the speedo cable that runs to your speedo in the dash. It takes about 10 minutes to fit. Then you have to keep doing it again and again until finally you get it right and your speedo works. Getting all the bits to fit together properly is a bit tricky.

After that, you have to take out your speedo assembly, remove the lens and put a sticker over the k in km/h so that it shows m/h. This is accepted by the SVA people as saying miles per hour.

After you've done that, you then have the joy of re-fitting the speedo cable into the back of the display and fitting it back into the dash (hopefully without hurting yourself too badly or pinning your arm inside the dash like I did.

Can you not just go the scrappie, get a binnacle from a uk car, take the dials out and put it in yours?
