Oil Consumption

I've had my car for about 2 months and I've had to top up with about 1.5 litres of oil in during that time. I do a mix of road and motorway driving but yes I do drive quite fast. Is it normal for MR2's to burn this much oil?

It`s quite possible. Depends on how many miles your doing as to whether it`s excessive or not. :)

My Celica uses about a quarter of a litre every 2000 miles. :)

Hmm well I've probably done about 4,000 miles as a guess. Recently drove down to Cornwall on the motorway which used a bit.

cos s tubby lads dont use the high revs as much as you N/A lads....

Mine uses a litre every 2000 miles which I thought was a bit much so I mentioned it to my local Toyota independant who told me that "1 pint every 1000 miles is acceptable usage for that engine". So I stopped worrying and kept on topping it up between services.
