Have to agree that cheaper filters are sometimes best, I've had K&N filters in the past which I used to think were good but the one I recently bought for the MR2 is unbranded but seems great, the pickup is much better and the sound is lovely and raspy above 4000rpm.

As I said to you, sort out the air coming in first then get a decent exhaust to help get rid of it quicker. Induction kits make the exhaust louder aswell

My mate kal has two universal air filters on his mr2!

it looks cool and sounds even better.
