Noticable Mpg Increase From A Decat?

Basically is it worth getting one for the only purpose of increasing the MPG of my car?

Do i need to get a silenced one or a straight thru and will either make a difference to the sound of the car?

To be honest m8 u wont see a marked improvement cause u will always have the foot down playing with the extra power :D .

If the Cat is badly chocked u might do though, its does help the mpg even with a good cat , to get the best results ur better adding an induction kit to go with it.

My m8 had a renault 19 16v a few years back and was getting low 20 mpg , when he got a decat it went up into the 30's, thats what his on board computer was telling him anyway ..

Iv got the tune a car straight through de cat and does make the car sound louder , not sure about the silenced ones but i recon they should be quieter.
