....clip that holds the rod for the engine lid when the engine lid is closed?

Mines snapped off and now I have to remove the rod off the engine lid completely before I close it, and store it in the boot :(

Its such a small thing but its a pain now that its broken.

Anyone got a spare one they can post to me, or tell me where I can get a replacement.

I wanted to glue it back on but it had fallen off into the engine never to be seen again LOL

A replacement clip is available from Toyota and I think it's pretty inexpensive too. It's something that many MR2 owners break in the course of ownership although touch wood 3 MR2's and I've never broken one yet!

How much is it going for M8?

Are they easy enough to fit?

Just had a look, damned cheap too!

Also quite liked the chrome dial surrounds. Very nice.

The clip can be bought from a Toyota dealer very cheaply, about a pound if I remember.

They offered to fit mine for me and when I said 'Why?" the salesman said something along the lines of 'I don't think it's a straightforward job but it shouldn't be more than half an hours labour' I laughed in his face and told him 'It's a little bit of plastic that pushes in to a little hole if I struggle I'll come back".

nah i think you have to lift them a little bit, but they do lift completly up by themselves before half way though. It would be cool if they were fully automatic!
