Intake Question

Want to know if it really worth changing the intake with something like the apex power intake or just replacing the factory air filter with a toms filter. Not planning on doing serious mods or anything later on.

changing the air filter with the correct setup for cold air induction will aid throttle response and give a small increase in bhp, less then 5bhp.

Gives an induction roar on throttle and will make a sucking noise on tick over.

Worth it if you want the above :)

You could try replacing the standard paper filter with a cotton filter. Apart from induction kits and cone filters, K&N also make cotton filters that will fit in a standard airbox.

hi, i have owned a few serious jap cars myself and unless your car is kitted out to the gunnels with modified gear, getting an apexi or any other tuning company filter will not really make any difference imo. A standard filter will do the trick more than eficiently,,In anycase all that you are paying for when it comes to wear and tear parts is the marketing for these tuning firms,,,
