Installing A Sound System In My Yaris Please Help

Just passed my driving test on Friday and i really fancy a decent sound system. I have been considering doing a pioneer setup as they have a top reputation for good quality sound systems.

Having read many posts on Speakers, sound etc. i have decided the best way to go about this is to get a SUB/AMP in the boot and upgrade the dashboard Speakers and door Speakers and fit an aftermarket CD/MP3 Player. Would you agree a SUB/AMP packages is better that some 6*9's powered by an amp?

Heres what im thinking of getting.

Headunit : Pioneer: DEH-P3630MP - CD/MP3 PLAYER

Dash Speakers: PIONEER-TS-1056

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/produc...+products_id+47

Door Speakers: PIONEER-TS-1356

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/produc...+products_id+46

Amp and Sub Deal: PIONEER-12-INCH-MXB2125-DEAL

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/produc...roducts_id+1234

Now any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe theres better components for similar prices or a little more. I would just like to be reassured that all the parts will fit with out problems and that the setup would generate some top sounds. I am aware that i will need an adaptor for the head unit.

I will ask a garage to install the parts for me as i would be bound to break something, any advice there?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Richard

right if you are tight on cash get that setup! because it seems quite good to start off with.

but if you have more money to spend or are getting more money soon, just save it and you can get a much better setup!!

either is better than standard!! i cant really comment as i havent heard those Speakers but looking at the RMS they are decent as a beginner.

Richard I would get components up front, the Speakers being in the door and the tweeters in the dash and would then get a sub and amp 4 the boot altho I never done this (well the sub amp thing) its apparently the best for sound quality!

P.S. Welcome 2 the club!

Hey thanks guys but one thing i don't understand is the difference between components and Speakers. all seems rather confusing. Would these pioneer components offer better quality then:

PIONEER-TSH1303

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/produc...roducts_id+1268

and would they fit?

I'm looking to set a limit of around 400pound including installation. Does anyone know a rough figure if how much a local garage would charge for this sort of installation.

An installation of a sub/amp package varies from £50 at little retailers, to £80 at Halfords to about £120 at a respectable joint known as Unicar, (who are good, but a tad pricey!) For the Speakers, i would guess between £20 and £60 all in, so if you want it doing well, you're looking at over £160. Plus, that doesn't include cables, set aside between £10 and £50 for them, depending on the quality you want.

This is only a guide from places i know that have quoted me. Chances are you'll have better luck and find an install cheaper! But i hope this helps!

P.S. Welcome to legal(ish) driving and to yaris ownership!
