the airbag warning light comes on for about 1-2 secs then goes out. the petrol light comes on intermittently when its near the bottom and when your almost empty it stays on all the time.

I would love to say that i don't run my car low on petrol but i do & have done(i know it's not clever) but i have never had that damn petrol light on yet and the needle has been significantly lower than white line!

Airbag light always comes on for 2-3 seconds on ignition as said already...

Also had my ABS light on too!!!

My warning lights work as stated but i have the same problem with my 'fuel low' light. Since i bought the car it has never worked. Toyota said its not worth payin out £40-£50 on labour charge just to fix what cud be a bulb problem. Ive only run out of fuel once due to lack of concerntration and driving like an idiot.

So dont wory bout the fuel light.

hmm but what about my air bag :S an i dint no any starlets had abs :o cool

i was under the impression that no uk starlets had abs.

the hub carriers do not have speed sensors so no abs. Glanza probably does but then it has different hub carriers

do u think i shud check the bulbs? or maybe take it in to tha toyota fellas?

hey guys, my first post lol :)

i've had a starlet just under a year now and have also never seen the petrol light come on. it really bugged me for the first few months as i always run my tank pretty low so i can figure out what the fuel economy is like. i'd forgotten about it until i read this lol

might look into replacing the bulb if i can figure out how to take the dash apart!

i remember thinking when i first saw the unlit warning light in bright sunlight that it would be a nice improvement from my previous 106 which had no such light. i was very dissapointed when it never lit lol!

obviously this is a common problem from reading the posts. it is likely that this indicator just isnt wired/installed in some of the cheaper models? i'd hate to take my dash apart to find that there isnt even a wire for low fuel indicator!

thanks,

daryl
