My Speedometer Doesnt Work

Hey guys I dunno whats wrong with it, I checked all of my fuses and none of them are bad. All the sudden yesterday it has been sitting at 0 MPH and I don't know whats wrong with it. Could you guys give me some suggestions on how to fix it or if I have to buy a new unit for my dash. Thanks

Do you have a cable driven speedo or an electronic speedo? If its a cable it may be that the cable has snapped. Another possibility with this type of speedo is that the worm drive gear has stripped teeth.

If you have the electronic type speedo first off check the electrical connections first. The pulse generator for these is on the top of the gearbox(transmission). Its possible that the pulse generator has failed or that its worm drive has stripped.

hey, i bought a chilton's for my car today and i found out it is a cable driven speedo. and i did find that the cable broke. so i think i can get it fixed now. thanks
