OK, KITT is having a problem

Engine is in and running

Wheels spin when she is up in the air but no movement when she is on the ground :(

the 30 amp fuse that is connected to the clifford alarm  keeps blowing.

are these 2 problems connected in anyway???????

Any ideas, I am running out of options fast :crybaby:

sounds daft but are both wheels spinning off the ground??

wondered if a drive shaft wasnt connected properly??

as for the fuse check for shorts!

Hi hun, yup both wheels are spinning when of the ground

Kitt is still up at Lees :group-cuddles:

But this is a last ditch attempt otherwise she is coming back to Rochdale and then I have run out of plans.

Likely to be a problem with the differential. When the car is up in the air there's not much torque required to turn the wheels, when she/he is on the ground the torque required to overcome the rolling resistance (if that's the proper English term) is too great for the diff to overcome.

When she's on the ground and in gear, does the speedo work when you rev it?

Fuse thing unlikely to be related, short inwiring prolly.

Cheers, Yves.

Was it towed any great distance after the breakdown? if so you could have shafted the transmission or torque convertor :shutit:

Are your torque convertor pressures ok? :)

Is there enough oil (ATF) in the gearbox?

Sorry cant answer some of these questions as the car is in Nottingham and not Rochdale :crybaby:

But the words Torque converter keep coming up time and time again, I have been to 2 garages and they both say it COULD BE the T.C

Lee is pretty good whith engines and would have done everything right and made sure there was enough oil in etc.and checked and re-checked it all. just somethings are meant to try us.

aarrggh, didn't see the autobox thing, as GIDDLEPIN said, torque convertor not able to lock up enough would be first on the list of suspects then.

Cheers, Yves.

Like Giddlepin says how far was the car towed when it broke down?? You are only supposed to tow auto's a short distance and then only up to about 30MPH. If an auto has to be towed a long way you have to raise its drive wheels off the ground.

Did the car have a dead flat battery and was it jumped off from another car?

If so the sudden surge can fry an ECU! :crybaby:

the Battery did die at lees place.
