I am pulling my hair out trying to get some info on the TNS 200 2001. I have heard there is a way of upgrading this as mine is the 2001 CD. Has anyone done this successfully ?

I was quoted £136 from a dealer and I thought he was taking the @?ss. Is this not free on some download site or can anyone point me in the right direction.

Hopefully ??

Not that this is much help - sorry - but I think I have a similar system. I've not been able to find any information at all about updating/additionalCDs.

The couple of Toyota dealers I've asked don't have a clue about the navigation system I have but were more than happy to sell me a new one!

I seem to have the TNS 200 system and although there is no model number on the front of the actual unit, the manual has a photo of a NVA-V60, which looks similar to my system. The Great Britain CD I have is marked with Ver.1.4, Release 00-5.

I only bought my second-hand Avensis GS recently and the (non-Toyota) dealer didn't know until the very last minute that it had a navigation system. It's been brilliant so far and I'd like to check out any additional CDs, particularly for France.

The "unrar"ed image is too big to burn onto a single CD. Anyone got any idea what's wrong?

i have a similiar system, also bought from non toyota dealer, were does the cd actually go?

The CD goes in the box in the boot - you can only load and eject CD's when the ignition is on.

It is possible to copy later versions of the CD using 'Nero' if you know someone that has the CD but it is of course highly illegal  .

Go back to the dealer and point out that the European Parliament has ruled that software vendors selling in Europe have to provide free upgrades within a year of you purchasing any software. Warn them that they risk a big fine from the EU and that you will be contacting the Consumers Association, Local Trading Standards, etc, etc.
