Ok, did some dash fixing as a few things werent working and changed the color of the guages and all. but after ive plugged the speedo back in it jitters up and down when you accelerate. like instead of being a steady 20ks, it will jitter from 18 to 22 and so on with all speeds, it never sits on a number properly. its a hell of a task getting the damn cable out, let alone back on. could i have damaged the cable? or is it something silly. TY

I had a similar problem on a Citroen ZX. It was down to the fact that the cable was not seated properly into the back of the speedo unit.

Perhaps also try a bit of wd40 or oil down the cable before re-fitting to the unit to ensure it is mothing freely.

ok, TY will try that tomorrow. its very hard getting to it in the first place, reaching behind the cluster and all, then trying to get a very tight connection plug off... hmm. Ty for the help.

On the Citroen I was able to remove some lower fascia panels around the steering column and reached up behind the dashboard to it.

either i cant get it to sit properly or its damaged, coz no matter what i do, it jitters, it seems to be fine once u settle on a speed, however thats usually above 40ks. anything under and it jitters. i dunno,
