Abs Wheel Sensors

:help:

I've got a 1998 ® CarinaE 1.8SE

One of the ABS sensors must have gone open, or high resistance..

Does anyone know what the correct resistance of the sensor should be????

and maybe somewhere who sells them at a good price (either new or used).

The Toyota Dealer has quoted me £170 to fit one new wheel sensor.

Cheers

We just had the ABS sensor replaced when we had the wheel bearing done by a local garage and it cost us about £40-50 for a new sensor. Might be worth asking around local garages and seeing how much they will quote ;)

Wow, £40.... that must have been a used part.

I've spent the morning phones breakers and new parts suppliers...and no one can help....

They said only Toyota make the part, and i've check with Toyota today, and they want £105 + VAT, for it... (Part Number T89542-05020)

YICKES......

:help: Hi Nick

I have also got a Carina E (1997) which has the ABS sensor problem. My Toyota dealer had quoted £180 to replace.

Did you ever manage to track down a cheaper alternative?? I see that Rachel (I think) managed to get a new one for £40 - any more info??
