Scuff Mark Removal

Apologies if this is the wrong area of the forum but can anyone offer tricks of the trade for removing minor scuff marks from black plastic trim. I've a few of these on the door panels of my Yaris Verso. They are a fact of life to a degree but they are annoying and I'd like to get rid if them. Those of you who show your cars must know a trick or three!

If it's smooth black plastic, then you can use Brasso - rub it into the plastic in circular motions using a soft cloth. A watch-maker friend taught me that - he uses it to remove scratches from glass and plastic watch faces.
