Buying A New Corolla

Hey folks, I'm in the process of buying an '05 Corolla fielder. I'm coming from a 99 vw passat 1.8t. I have one question about this car. We have a corolla sedan and the back end is VERY light, is this the same with the fielder? Also, the auto tranny is a bit of a slushbox right? Any other info on this car and other things will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Hello

What I think we will all need to know is what version a 'Fielder' is (Estate/Combi or 4X4 version etc...?).

Perhaps then someone can relate it to what it's called in our country and thus answer your question.

I'm sorry, I wasn't even aware there were any different ones. It's a station wagon. Really just a corolla with a station wagon rear end. I'll try to find a picture if that helps.

So it is an estate/station wagon.

It's okay I wondered if 'Fielder' meant 4x4 or something (Crossing fields etc.) for there did used to be a 4x4 Corolla Estate/station wagon a few years back for certain countries. Great Britain had a Corolla 4X4 Estate/Station Wagon version made available in the years 1987 - 1992. Before that in the earlier 80's in the same class we had the 'Tercel' in both Station Wagon and Liftback/hatchback.

Anyway back to your original question:

I have one question about this car. We have a corolla sedan and the back end is VERY light, is this the same with the fielder?

The answer is your Fielder will be VERY, VERY light on the back end. The Estate/ Station Wagon / Kombi of any car is usually always 'lighter on the back end'. So if you feel your sedan is light on the back end your Fielder will feel lighter still.

Happy motoring.

P.S. Brazil? ...South America, a lovely part of the World, nice climate etc.
