What size wheels?

How do you drive?

Goto a specialist and get the car set up right..

I recently had my REAR tracking sorted.. didnt even know you could do that!

Like Jappy, I get around a year / 10,000 miles from my rears.

I'd like to know how that equates to £900 for 2 sets of 2 rears though? Even if that includes 2 fronts, £900 is hellishly expensive!!

Hey JohnnyC, where abouts in Yorks are you? Am going up to Wakey on the 5th of Oct, but will be going through Dalton, Hudds, Birkby, Fartown, and just generally around. What's your car like? I may see it around, or you me.

I would challenge you to get a year out of rear tyres on a tubby mate.... not likley.

Whats the difference in a tubby???

You need to learn to put the power down mate!

1 set of Eagle F1 costing me £450... 205/45/16 and 225/45/16. 2 sets equals to £900

I've just had my proper laser (full geometry) tracking. Doing it once every 6months too.

My Toyo's seem to last a *bit* longer, but thats cause I mainly do M'way miles .. but the fronts are fine .. only the rears seem to get a lot of abuse.

its all to do with torque ;)

the tubby obviously bungs a lot more through the back wheels which just helps to scrub the rubber off!

Try swapping the front tyres with the rear ones once they start to wear, that way you'll get more miles out of them.

and have wider wheels on the front?

Yep the tyres dont last that long.

like what already been said check your tracking and pressure reguarly.

and dont abuse them, thats all you can do really.

tyre choices can help in a small way. The harder the rubber feels the less it will wear, but they suffer from not having the same grip as the softer ones.
