Import In Surance?

i was just wanting to get a quote for a ytst before i got a yts as i am curious

at what the difference would be!

usually the parts are in Japan, and also they cost more

also Toyota was unable to calm money for my service without seeing the registration details cos they couldnt find it in their UK Database

Mine's an import...and it didn;'t make a different to the insurance <halifax>

what does it really matter anyways? It's just that I bought my car before it arrived over here....as it would eventually...and thus saved 2k on the price.

It's the same spec as any other destined UK car...so why should it be classed as an import?

In my eyes....EVERY Yaris is an import...they don't make them in the UK..so how do they get them here.....import em! Nuff Said.

Yet the delaers insist on scribling over all my invoices and servic documents IMPORT IMPORT in big red letters....WHY????????

Hi,

My car is an import which I bought from Trade Sales. I am with tesco insurance and they had no problem at all with my T Sport being an import, no problems with not having the UK alarm either. But the local toyota dealer is very funny about anything to do with my car and like the previous poster writes non-UK car or import on my invoices and service records. Don't really care as I saved £2500 not buying the car from them and as for resale values mine will be old before it gets sold anyway. You don't need the hassle though.
