Yaris

Hey all. I'm new here, but thought I'd say hi. I'm going to be buying a Yaris 1.3 T-Spirit 3-door, in the next few days. There are 2 choices. One is black, and the other is silver.

Which one do you think I should go for? Any help would be much appreciated.

Which ever you fancy really, both will be excellent cars, you will love it!

In my opinion I’d go for the silver, easier to keep clean. The black looks so cool as well, hard choice.

no the paintwork isnt dodgy, just resized pictures and saved as jpeg!! look in gallery/garage at other silver/black yaris's to help you make your mind up.

Looks great mate. Saw it little while back, and the car looks fantastic. The colour issue is the only one that I'm undecided on because I saw the black in a photo and thought "that's awesome".

I saw the silver in person the other day, and it looked so much better in real life. Next door neighbour has a silver Yaris, but she's old and I don't want to be competing with an OAP, lol

lol!! yeah black yaris's are cool!! i was planning on spraying mine all black in 3/4 year time, but i got told to get a t sport or something, which im gona do!!

Hi there and welcome.

I moved from a silver Yaris to a black one. Personally I prefer the black as minbe is a T3 and it hides all of the cheapy black placcy bits and makes them look body coloured.

The silver is, however, much, much easier to keep looking clean.

Both colurs are becoming a bit commeon now, but you can't go wring with either!

black but be prepared for evey chip and scratch to show up but will look so much nicer than silver

welcome to the club and forum. Both silver and black yaris are really good looking. The choice is yours. I have a black vitz and the only drawback is that to clean it often. Dust is highly visible and constrasting on the black colour. So frequent cleaning is needed. But I don't regret black vitz...the look of it is sporty itself. U can see some of the pics at this addr:

Thanks everyone for the responses. Going to have a look at the Black one today, and hoping it impresses because I'll buy it there and then. Only other question I would have really is about buying from the dealer. Once you've shown an interest in buying the car, how do they sort out things like tax and the logbook, do they require a deposit. Is it all straight-forward, and when would I be able to collect the car?

Sorry for the dumbness, never bought an car from an dealer.

No bother, you'll probably have to wait a couple of days for them to sort out that kind of thing and for them to tax it (which depends on how quickly you can get them an insurance cover note)

The logbook will be sent out to you by the DVLA (they deal with all that). As for deposit, it depends on the dealer really.

Get a black 1 and u will love the Yaris!

And when the metallic black is really clean and in the sunshine the metallic effect is amazing! U see all the colours of the rainbow in it!

Had a look at the Black one this afternoon, and gotta admit the Silver is the #1 choice. Black looks great, but it's just blander. Going tomorrow morning to buy the Silver Yaris.

Ooh, I do have one more question.

It's about insurance. I've been checking up insurance quotes online, and was wondering whether when they state "immediate cover", would this mean I would be able to print out a cover note, and use it to tax my car before I receive the official documents, or do I have to wait for the documents in the post.

Secondly, they ask for proof of previous No Claims Discount. Do I have to send this later on, or is the cover on the insurance not valid until they receive proof?

immediate cover - is when you put the phone down you are insured(so you can drive now), cover note is in the post

you must send the proof(original copy) within 14 days other wise they will charge you the full price and might charge you an admin fee
