Car Alarm

Hi everyone I have got a Yaris T Sport. I'm quite happy with the alarm system on it but sometimes feel that it could be better. My Wife park's here Yaris T Sport in a Multi storey car park for about 8 hours. I feel one day that her luck will run out and the car will get stolen one day.

So what would you guys and girl recommend for a good car alarm to accompany the toyota alarm. One that if you try to start the car its completely dead and wont start.

Anything with thatcham aproval is generally a pretty good bet, cat 2 is two circuit immobilizer all black wiring , cat one is alarm with immobilizer generally rolling code transmitters and Battery backup, most new cars with immobilzers are cat 2 approved anyway so you can get a cat 2 to one upgrade installed ,check with your toyota dealer on the yaris's alarm status,

Bearing in mind all thatcham approved stuff has to be fitted professionally by someone who holds a VSIB certificate

two good ones i can think of off the top of my head are cobra and clifford

I was recommended Sigma alarms the shop also did Clifford and Microscan all were roughly the same price, but the salesman said Sigma were the ones used on most expensive luxery cars and in his opinion was the best. It was abvout £330 fitted (only need upgrade as Yaris t sport immobaliser is cat 2)

The Sigma has great features on it to make you feel really save.

I would Highly reccomend either Clifford or Toad - and consider a GPS tracking device... well worth the investment for your pride and joy... ;)

Hi everyone Thanks for all your help. I will have to check out the site that ae11sr gave me. I think that i will have to invest in a good alarm soon.

As a lot of people like to look at my car in very strange ways.Sometimes they are just looking at it really hard and you feel like saying to them whats your problem mate.

I really like my car and my wifes motor and i hope that the worst doesn't happen to them.

The best in my opinion is the clifford kit not just for the security but the options you can have on them. There the only manufacture where a turbo timer is on the options list so very handy for me also by having that feature i will get remote start too B)

Hi simon I believe that clifford are a really good make of alarms. They are really popular.
