Not that it will be this month ... but ...

Am I right in thinking that I can replace my 185, 55, R15s with 205, 45 R16s

- managed to find a nice set to use through the summer - will keep the standard ones for the winter.

yep, they'll be 1.1% larger in diameter and also being wider you may have clearance issues when your car is lowered though.

Cheers, Yves.

To be honest I dont really want to lower anyway - sleeping policemen are already an issue!

drive overthem not higher than 2nd gear, also slow down then you should be ok

195/45/R16's lowered by 30mm and I have no problem with speed humps. Even braved some very high school speed humps! Took it no problem.

If you get 195's you'll have no problem if you do wish to lower later on. After you have em on I'm pretty sure you'll be wanting to

Wasnt going to get 195 45 R16s - was looking at 205 45 R16s... seen a set that I like and thing are reasonably priced...

As regards speed humps and the likes - I've had to park on kerbs etc and scrapred the bib more than once - hence my reluctance to lower

The ride height will actually be raised a little with the larger wheels fitted.

But when you fit the 16's you'll want to lower it... ^_^

Ride height shouldnt be raised with 195/45's. Well it is by like 1cm. From what I have read you will need an offset of 35mm if you want 205's as they will rub when taking humps at speed, or with a heavier load.

However, that is only if you lower it.

Speaking of which, Ryan did you get round to lowering yours?

Hang on a mo - I was told that 205,45,R16s were a direct replacement for the standard 185,55,R15s....
