Unstable In The Wet

I'm finding my MR2 very unstable in the wet, to the point where I'm driving like a grandad. Tonight was coming back on the motorway and whenever I went above 60 mph I felt the back end twitch on the bends, it keeps scaring me coz I don't want to lose control. Just wondered if there was anything up with my suspension or tracking? My tyres still have plenty of grip although they're not the top brands. Any feedback would be good.

never had probs in the rain on a motorway before. Maybe you were hitting alot of standing water at the same time ???

This has shaken my car quite a few times.

I got new front tyres fitted yesterday and noticed a massive difference in the car straight away... :o

The tyres arn't a fancy make but they are soft compound so there very grippy in the wet and believe me,

its been wet today :D

Before i had them fitted, mine was also very twitchy but it's fine now...

I dont know why front tyres have made such a difference, but its like night and day :thumbsup:

My car was horrible on cheap front tyres, understeering and aquaplaning. I swapped them for Toyo Proxes T1-S and the difference was amazing.

Im on Nankangs on the front...the understeer is beyond comical. Not too bad in the dry tho.

How did you know I had Nankangs on the front? Lol. I'll probably change them in the new year when they've worn a bit more.

This weekend was the first time I've driven my car in anger in the wet in a while .. you all need SPL front spoilers :lol: ..

It felt so stable at speed .. only the usuall understear at slow roundabouts on cold tyres ..

Even gave Andy (Knowlson) a scare by keeping up in the damp .. Clicky

Hi-Q Tyreservices is doing a deal on Eagle F1`s at the moment. Speaking to the guy in reception, he reckons that the offer will be ongoing well into the new year.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
