One Brake Light To Stay On

Here is my question....

I own an avensis 2003-04....

and I wonder the following...

I have seen in many cars when they are parked and the engine is off, ONE of

the back red (brake) lights stays on e.g. the red light from the road side.....

(they do that in order to be visible to other cars at night when they park in roads with big traffic and the car is not appropriate parked.)

Can this happen to avensis??

I have heard that you have to do a kind of switch compination???

Do you know anything about it?

Thanks....

Hope my english to be good enough to make you understand

Yes it was quite a common feature about 20 years ago and now seems to be coming back again, usually though you get the front headlight on to.

I think it's done by putting the indicator on left or right depending which side you want on and then taking the key out and locking up.

By the way, the English was fine.

Thanks for the reply...

Actually i've done something similar but nothing happened.....

(I'll try again...)

Do you know if it happens immediately or do i have to wait sometime after locking up?

Did you do it???? (it was in an Avencis 2003-04 or in another car??)

Is it a common way applying to any kind of cars??

(Sorry for all of these questions).. :D

I've never done it personally, but I have heard of a few cars which do it and it's the common way of getting it to work.

If your's does it then i'm sure it will say in the manual somewhere how to do it.
