Wiring Up My Amp

Hey there, my JBL 4Ch amp with sub and 6*9's should be arriving very soon now and was justr wondering if there was any advice going on how to wire the amp up. Thing that would be usefull would be:

Where to earth it, it'll be in the boot,

Can i mount it on the back of rear seats?

Whats the best way to pass the power cable from the Battery through to the boot? Is there a hole i can allready pass the cable through from the Battery?

Can i just run the sub and leave two channels unused untill my 6*9 stealth shelf arrives? (I ask coz i know with old amplifiers you used to have to have the Speakers connected for it too work.

Many Thanks

Richard

try and find a bolt in your boot somehwhere! if not, find a bolt, drill a hole somewhere and test bolt - then thats ready for the earth

yeah you can mount it on the back of your seats! just use alot of velcro pads. people may advise you that the heat will then travel up through the amp, but i have mine on the back of my sub box, which is parallel to the seats, and im having no problems

theres two gromits (a rubber thing with nipples on), one on passenger side and one on the drivers side, if you cant get the wire through the passenger side, its easier to get it through drivers side as theres more room up the footwell. You simply cut the nipples off and feed wire through the nipple and if all gos well it should feed through into the car...IF NOT, tape the wire to a LONG screw driver (i used duck tape) and push through the nipple and puncture the other side of the gromit (because there is another layer of rubber to get through), push screwdriver downwards and all the way through (bar the handle) go inside car and grab wire and take tape off (tight squeeze but i managed it) secondly, just took it under the plastic side bit thats on the bottom

and your last question - indeed you can

if you want pix and more details!! add me to msn or something if you have it!

earth - any metal screw in the boot area, try the rear lights

pass cable, there are 2 gromets, you will need to cut the nipples off and feed the cable through, use a screwdriver to help but becareful not to damage the other cables

Can i just run the sub and leave two channels unused untill my 6*9 stealth shelf arrives? - yes

nononononon no no no nooooooooo

There is a hole in the passenger side thats already there!!!

Look on floor of passenger side really deep into footwell, theres a hole that is perfect for the power cable. just run it tho, open bonnect and youll see it sticking out...

No need to deface your yaris!!
