Hi there,

I have a Y reg yaris which has a casette player in the dashborad, but I'd like to be able to play CDs in the car. What is my best option?

Is there a toyota cd player which can be installed so that it all merges in with the style on the dash - or is this not available?

What are your ideas?/

Thanks so much for your help guys!

Neil

Hi if you have the money (arround 100quid) and want good sound quality then get an aftermarket one, if you are lucky then you could have MP3 aswell, just read the how to section

you can either buy one which gos in the cash box under the tape player. OR you can buy the whole thing and scrap the tape deck.

or you could do what iv just done and buy an aftermarket one (alpine, sony, JVC, pioneer etc). usually the better option for better sound quality, and looks great! costs around the same too!!!!!!1

Hi - I'm a pretty similar situation, with my wifes T plate Yaris.

Slightly differnet question though, can anyone confirm, or point me in the direction of a site where I may be able to check the model number of the Toyota single CD unit that sits in the dash under the existing cassette player ?

Hiya

I'm new to the forum and wanted some advice. I have seen Ryan's cd player that he had custom installed.

I also wanted to have a mp3 cd player added but everyone i spoke to in regards to this, told me that it cannot be done. I then found an internet article reccomending me to use a sony cd changer. The model is T70MX (see http://www.ciao.co.uk/Sony_Xplod_CDX_T70MX__5596705) 6 cd changer and to use an adapter ATYS001 that fits behind the standard radio that comes factory fitted. This should alow to play my mp3 cds as sequential only displayed through the radio. It would mean no display of ID3 tags as the standard Toyota radio does not accept it.

Could someone please give me some advise on what is the best course of action. My Yaris is 1999 model GS.

A lot of places will tell you its not possible to put an aftermarket cd player in a yaris. And in simple terms, they are wrong!
