Mk3 Crankshaft

Hello everyone,

last week i wrote about my 7M-GTE engine problem and how my girlfriend destroyed it :crybaby: . Now i'm trying to repair it.

I just took the engine out and opened the oilpan and saw everything , to be honest she broke my heart :ffs: The crankshaft is totally damaged :crybaby: and there is no way to repair it anymore, that's why i decided to buy a used one with low kilometers. Yesterday i found one but the problem is that i don't have the old one to compare the two crakshafts........on the one i'm going to buy i can read 6M and not 7M........but as the owner said, the crankshafts in 7M engines r the same as in 6M engines, is that right????????

I'm not sure but I doubt it very much!!!!

In all honesty a short block 7M engine second hand costs peanuts, and it you get it froma breaker will have some warrenty...... it will also be a lot easier to plonk in a new one as opposed to fannying about trying to save an old one... -trust me I've done it twice!!! about to do it again!
