Cruise Control

Oh just keep your foot on the pedal and watch the speedo, you wuss!

Cruise control is probably dangerous on our motorways. You'd spend most of your time kicking down on it to switch it off (assuming it was an accelerator pedal version) AND left foot braking to avoid the guy who'd just overtaken and pulled right in front of you!

In heavy traffic they are dangerous and shouldn't be used, but where the road is clear and empty (on the continent, for example, and some of the UK's extremities...) then it can be viewed as a safety feature.

Sometimes when you're driving at night and there are no streetlights, no other illumination, just your headlights and the white lines on the road then you can unintentionally speed up as you have no outside reference of your speed, hence the desire for cruise control as a safety feature.

Ultimately - of course - it's the driver who has to be in control.

Does this mean I won't be able to have a quick nap on straight motorways? Dammit! Need a new plan.

the m62 isnt a busy road at all, hence why is it so boring

Fair enough but seriously, I'm still not sure you'd use it that often. It's no accident that most cars don't even have it as an option in this country. I've only ever driven one car with cruise control (an ancient US LHD Ford) and it scared the heck out of me. Mind you, that was in Wales on twisty roads!

Still, if you want it, go for it.

Well, over here the car was only released last summer, and toyota was trying to attract the younger tuner crowd over here who tend to buy honda civics etc..., so they offered a bunch of performance goodies as dealer installed items, like my Eibach lowering springs and AEM air intake...and other stuff like full TRD suspension kits and Borla exhaust systems...all covered by warranty...

Cheers
