Hey Guys

I have an 86 Soarer with the 2.0 litre 6cyl twin turbo. I'm having

trouble finding an induction kit to suit the (1G-GTE) motor. I really wanted

to add a pod. I noticed Apexi make a induction kit for the supra with the same motor, but they tell me it wont fit? Getting one custom built doesn't really seem worth the price. I heard that they made kits especially for 2nd gen soarer's in Japan, anyone know where I can find one?

So far I've upgraded the exhaust system, but thats about it. I'm thinking about putting a bleed valve and upping the boost a few psi, maybe an AFC?

I don't wanna go crazy for now, just extract some more power, improve 0-100.

Any one with any knowledge, your help is appreciated!!

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike...

Not many of us 1G'ers about!!!

I Don't ssee why the supra one will not fit, unless its a remote mounted cone..

I used a universal HKS style indution kit on mine, as long as the "top hat" converter fits the 4 screwholes on your airflow meter, the universal ones should be fine.. however my car got SLOWER as it was sucking in hot air!!!!

Do you have a boost guage on your car??? if not that should be the first thing to get (please don't just bolt it to the dash though!)

I'm assuming you 1G isa rev 1 engine,

1G Engine Generation identifiers:

Method 1 (ECU/Inj plugs)

gen 1: Yellow ECU plugs and Yellow injectors. 0.50bar / 7psi.

gen 2: Yellow ECU plugs and pale Green injectors. 0.62bar / 9psi

gen 3: Grey ECU plugs and pale Green injectors. 0.75bar / 11psi

here is one way of running boost controll... its a bit OTT but a very good controlled method.....

if you are just thinking of fitting a bleed valve, you need one valve to controll both actuators.... and need to plumb it up as shown in the attatchment.

When was the car last serviced??? These egines need to be kept in top condition, and you'll get more out of a decent service, then just upping the boost!!!

Its important the valve shims are done, if your not sure when.. do them now!!!!
